B. Introduction: We conclude our Spiritual Warfare series with a morning of worship.

1. We have learned that we are at war with the devil and his demonic forces.
2. 1 Peter 5:8 (NLT)— [We must…] Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
3. Satan is powerful, exerting significant control of this world through his angels.
4. 1 John 5:19 (NLT)— We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the power and control of the evil one.
5. But we are not powerless against Satan’s deceptive assaults.
6. Ephesians 6:10 (NIV)— …be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
7. James 4:7 (NLT)— So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8. God has prepared us for combat with Satanic forces by providing supernatural protection.
9. Paul, imprisoned in Rome, writing a letter to Christians in Ephesus, compared the armor of a Roman soldier to the understanding and attitudes we need to resist Satan’s assaults.
10. Ephesians 6:13–14 (NIV)—¹³ Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,
11. The Belt of Truth represents living with truthfulness throughout my life.
12. The Spirit cinches up the truth belt, pointing out contradictions between my professed beliefs and practical behavior are consistent (which is integrity).
13. Possessing spiritual and personal integrity prevents Satan from exploiting weakness in my life through temptation and precludes his guilt-producing accusations (Revelation 12:10).
14. Let’s stand and sing as we reflect on wearing the Belt of Truth in our lives.

2. Breastplate of Righteousness: Chase: Our Breastplate of Righteousness if formed when we are justified before God by faith in Jesus. This armor strengthens as we live out our faith, practicing what the Holy Spirit teaches us! So let’s praise God together for living in us by faith and making us more like Christ as we trust and follow Him!

3. Shoes of Peace: Kevin: The Shoes of Peace (with God) indicate the peace we experience when we’ve been changed by God’s great love demonstrated through the sacrifice of His Son for our sin. For all here this morning who are born again, this is the Good News that we are ready to share! This song is our story in Christ; it’s our testimony to the world. Let’s sing it together!

4. Shield of Faith: Jacob: 2 Peter 1:3-4 (NLT) tells us, By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the One who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
   
   In this spirit of our Shield of Faith, let us lift our voices in a shout of praise! Let us be a church who worships the God who gives everything we need!

5. Helmet of Salvation: Nikki: The Helmet of Salvation stands for confident hope of eternal life. 1 John 5:11-13 (NLT) says, And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. I [John] have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
   
   So Brookwood, let’s praise God together for the confident hope He gives to us in Christ!

6. Offering Prayer: Nikki: Father, everything we have needed, Your hand has provided. Bless these tithes and offerings so that the Good News of Christ will go forward into our neighborhoods, our workplaces, our city, our state, our nation and throughout the world. Make Yourself know that many will be saved in Jesus’ name, Amen. (Seat congregation)
7. Sword of the Spirit & Prayer in the Spirit: Maria: The Sword of the Spirit is God’s Word. He calls us to know Him through His Word and to accurately apply the Word of Truth. Our final piece of armor, Prayer in the Spirit, activates not only His Word, but all the other pieces of armor as well, empowering us to effectively withstand Satan’s attacks. Prayer in the Spirit is our means of communicating with God, that we may hear Him, and that He may reveal Himself through us, His church. This song is our Prayer in the Spirity. We invite you to lift your voices with us in this prayer, humbly and earnestly asking God to pour His Spirit out on us.

D. Lord’s Supper – In the Lord’s Supper, we celebrate Jesus’ defeat of the devil for our sakes.

1. Hebrews 2:14–15 (NLT)— ¹⁴ Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could He die, and only by dying could He break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. ¹⁵ Only in this way could He set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying. [Today, we remember the sacrifice of Jesus to forgive our sins. Matthew 26:25]
2. [Paul wrote] 1 Corinthians 11:23-24 (NLT)— ²³ For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord Himself. On the night when He was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread ²⁴ and gave thanks to God for it. Then He broke it in pieces and said, “This is My body, which is given for you. Do this to remember me.” [Take and eat. Peel off top of cup.]
3. 1 Corinthians 11:25-26 (NLT)— ²⁵ In the same way, He took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and His people—an agreement confirmed with My blood. Do this to remember Me as often as you drink it.” [Drink] ²⁶ For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until He comes again.
4. Matthew 26:30 (NLT)— Then they sang a hymn and went out to the Mount of Olives.
